How to Change Equipment Annotate TextStyle from Default Way

In OpenPlant PID CONNECT Edition, requirement is to have desired Textstyle instead of default texstyle getting placed when Components Placement is done.

Background

Equipment are placed with default Annotation or Name on Placement but in this wiki, The Equipment  would be placed with Desired text style or as per users requirement.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant PID CE U6. 



  2. Create a New dgn, Select the required Title sheet, Proceed to  place the Equipment.

  3. Click on Equipment -Tab -A and place the Pump -B e.g Horizontal Centrifugal or Vertical Centrifugal -B  as shown in image below .
    Notice  Default Name of  Pump gets placed i.e PMP-0001 & PMP-0002 as highlighted below.



  4. To Place the Desired Textsyle instead of Default one, Proceed to respective Workset over here Default Metric WorkSet is considered. 
    Path :Worksets - OpenPlantMetric - Standards - OpenPlant-PID-Dgnlib-PIDProjectTemplates.dgnlib - Open. 



  5. In Text Ribbon Click on TextStyle as  highlighted  in below image to launch the TextStyle Dialog Box.
    (TextStyle can also be launched through typing in search Option in right Top corner)



  6. Text Style Dialog Box gets Launch.



  7. Create a New TextStyle or Right Click on Existing one and Copy paste it and rename it. 
    In Below image Default Equipment Textstyle is copied though right option Copy and Pasted in Styles itself. Renamed it to ,"TEXTSTYLE-1'.



  8. Make sure following Changes are made in new TEXTSTYLE-1 defined in last step. Double Click on TEXTSTYLE-1- A, Color-B, Font-C & it can be seen been reflected in Viewer-D as shown in  below image.



  9. Right Click on TEXTSTYLE-1, Click on Activate then Save all through Style option in left top corner of Text Style dialog box.



  10. Close the Existing PIDProjectTemplates.dgnlib file and Open the existing dgn in which Pump was placed.

  11. Next update the template defined from Library. It can be updated through  Element Template.
    In Dgn Change the Workflow to Drawing from OpenPlant PID- A, Manage in Text Ribbon - B & Element Template- C  dialog box gets open as shown in below image.



  12. In Element Template, Select the DGN-A which is created and PIDPProjectTempalte.dgnlib, Go to Utilities respectively and Click on Updates Templates from Library -B as shown below.




  13. Open the TextStyle Dialog box to Activate the Newly created Line style i.e ,’TEXTSTYLE-1’-A  such that Icon before TEXTSTYLE-1 gets blue as shown below image B. Make sure Save All is done while closing the Text Style Dialog Box.



  14. With these changes even if user tries to  place the Pump, It will take default Textstyle like shown in below image.



  15. To get the new Textstyle i.e TEXTSTYLE-1 created gets reflected, Minor changes in schemas need to be done.
    Proceed to Schemas via Launching  CE Class Editor.

  16. In CE Class Editor Click on Open to desired project in which the Dgn is created.
    Select OpenPlant_PID.01.08.ecschema
    Std Path (C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Workspaces\WorkSpace\WorkSets\OpenPlantMetric\Standards\OpenPlant\Schemas)
    Supplement it with OpenPlant_PID_Supplemental_Design.01.08.ecschema.
    Through search Option go to Pump



  17. Click on Pump- A , Properties-B, Name-C & Change the Text Style- D to 'TEXTSTYLE-1' from EQUIPMENT as shown in below image. Save All the Changes and Minimize the Class editor  and Move to OPPID.



  18. Restart the OPPID and try to place the Pump, It can be seen that the Desired textstyle i.e TEXTSTYLE-1  gets reflected  while placing the Pump.



    Similarly desired text style can be placed through above procedure for respective Component.
