How to Show Imperial & Metric sizes in the Same Project in OpenPlant PID Connect Edition

Background

In the default setup, there could be only metric or imperial pipe sizes in a project. If user wants to configure it to show both imperial and metric pipe sizes. For this article, we will add imperial pipe sizes in the Metric project. As shown below, it lists only metric sizes in the size field. This wiki article explains the procedure for it.




Steps to Accomplish

  1. Open Bentley Class Editor.
  2. For the desired workset location, select OpenPlant_PID.01.08.ecschema schema & click on Open to load the schema. Supplement the loaded schema with Supplemental schemas.

  3. Go to METRIC_PIPE_SIZES class.



  4. In the Size Numeric Display custom attribute, right-click on the 'Items to be displayed' field and select 'Add Element' as shown below



  5. An empty element should be added at the bottom of the attributes list. Scroll down to the bottom and add the values.



  6. Save the changes in the schema and verify the result.
