Background

By default in OpenPlant PID, Color for Flow Arrow is set as white. Even after modification in Piping.cel  it does not get reflected in OpenPlant PID. This wiki will help in modification of arrow color and updating the existing arrow color.

.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant PID CE

  2. Check for Element Template defined for  Flow arrow. It can be seen through Class Editor or in properties by clicking Right click on Flow arrow as shown below. The Template used in Piping\Misc_Piping

  3. Considering Metric Project : Open PIDProjectTemplates.dgnlib  through below path i.e
    C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Workspaces\WorkSpace\WorkSets\OpenPlantMetric\Standards\OpenPlant\PID\DgnLibs
This path is different for OPPID V8i and OPPID CE  PIDProjectTemplates.dgnlib

  4. Change the Workflow from OpenPlant PID to Admin and go to Element Template in Collections .
Admin workflow is only visible to administrators not user.
Element Template can be found through search as well in easy alternative way.

  5. Element Template Dialog box will get launched.
Expand PIDProjectTemplates.dgnlib  until Misc_Piping in Piping section on left side.
On right side in Properties -General Setting →Colors can be viewed and in front of it white color defined already.
Through dropdown arrow select the different color and it will reflect again in front of Colors in General Settings along with its Number,

  6. Go to dgn in OPPID through green arrow in bottom right corner or through file option ..
Change the workflow to Drawing→ In Attributes group → Click on None next to Element Template Icon → Manage as shown below

  7. Dialog box with Element Templates gets launch again. In it got to Utilities click on Update Template from Library.

  8. After updating the changes from project template dgn library the changes will get reflected in color in Misc_Piping
Note -In dgn General setting are faded or greyed out to restrict any changes done by user again.

  9. In dgn hit enter and Keyin dialog box will be launched .
It that select or type in Keyin ,”pid component redraw all”.
Thus all the existing arrows in white colors will get update to red color defined in projecttemplate.dglib

  10. Whenever new pipeline is placed the default Arrow color would be in Red color as required.
