Problem

For project requirements we sometimes need a more precise unit system when importing DXF files. It is usually set as 0.1, 0.12 or 0.123, but we may need greater than that, and also the units may need to change from time to time.

Solution

To achieve this requirement please follow the steps below.

1. Open the required DGN file and the from the top left click on the ‘File’ tab:

2. Then choose Export>Exchange File Type>DXF:

 


3. In the ‘Export File’ dialog box click on the ‘Options’ button. There, expand the ‘Advanced’ option and under that you will see the ‘DXF Precision (Decimal Places) drop-down list:
