How to Modify/Add Validation State to Components in OpenPlant PID Connect

Background

The user might want to add validation state to components. Currently, three types of validation state lists show for components refer below image. To facilitate that there is an option in Bentley class editor which allows the user to accomplish the same. The steps to modify or add a validation list for inline valves are mentioned in the wiki article

 

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch class editor and load OpenPlant_PIDschema for the desired workset.  This schema is generally located in
    C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Workspaces\OpenPlantExample\WorkSets\Metric\Standards\OpenPlant\Schemas



  2. Supplement it with OpenPlant_PID_supplemental_Desging 01.08.ecschema.xml.

  1. Navigate to Inline valve switch to Properties tab, search for Validation State property & click on Override as shown below.


  1. Scroll down to Standard Action Values custom attribute, right-click on Value Action Map & select Add Element, refer image as shown below.



  2. Enter desired validation state name in Display String tab& respective values as shown below.



  3.  Save all the changes.



  4. Launch the OpenPlant PID and verify the result.
