For OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, requirement is to create a managed workspace manually without using OpenPlant Project Administrator.
Background
Here requirement is to create managed workspace for OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition manually. Such manual step for creation of managed workspace is handy where user don’t have OpenPlant Project Administrator CONNECT Edition available to machine or due to compatibility related issues with other installed products.
In this wiki article, we will explore how to create managed workspace manually for OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition. As a prerequisite, it is assumed that below components are already available in proper working condition.
- ProjectWise Datasource
- Local Configuration with desired workspace/workset for OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT
To accomplish this requirement, we will split the workflow into below major sections
- Creation of desired folder structure using ProjectWise Client (ProjectWise Explorer)
- Creation of required configuration blocks using ProjectWise Administrator.

Steps to Accomplish
A. Creation of desired folder structure using ProjectWise Client (ProjectWise Explorer)
- Launch ProjectWise Explorer.
- Login to desired ProjectWise Datasource.
- Right click on Documents & select New Work Area to create configuration folder.

- Under Work Area Creation Wizard dialog, click on Next. Refer image below

- Enter Work Area name as desired, for example PLANT & click on Finish. Refer image as shown below.

- Click on OK on successfully dialog.
- Notice that configuration folder is created and enlisting of same can be seen as well.
- Navigate to your local configuration, drag/drop Organization folder to ProjectWise created configuration folder. Refer image as shown below.

- This will prompt to Import Directories Check on Include Subdirectories, select OK to proceed. Refer image as shown below.

- From ProjectWise Client, select PLANT (configuration level), right click & create a New Folder with name
- Once done, folder structure will look like as shown below.

- Next task is to place the desired workspace inside created WorkSpaces folder.
- Select the WorkSpaces node. From local directory, select desired workspace along with its cfg file & drag it inside WorkSpaces (WorkSpaces level). Refer image as shown below.

- This will prompt to Import Directories dialog. Check on Include Subdirectories, select OK to proceed. Refer image as shown below.
