How to Visualize properties of Revit Model (i.dgn file) using PlantSight Visualization option

Background

There are sometime when users want to see the contents of converted Revit Models to i.dgn and want to visualize all the properties . For offline mode we can use bentley view to check all these properties . In this exercise we will how to check these properties in PlantSight using ProjectWISE share. Note Here we are using only MicroStation, in future updates we will see other bridges as well.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Register a project in PlantSight portal. Open the Chrome Browser, in the address bar type in Plantsight.bentley.com, click on PlantSight essential.



  2. Register a project and fill in with appropriate details.



  3. Open another tab in the browser and open connect.bentley.com, click on the PlantSight project we created scroll down to i-model manager and it should already have an i-model i.e. PS_Workflow_dt







  4. Click on the Project name we have created at the top and then click on Shared option (see below).





  5. Hit on Shared button, Click on + New button to create new folder and name the folder as desired and open the folder.




  6. Once the folder is created, open the folder and click on New to upload the file Revit Model i.dgn. (Follow the numbers in images below)



  7. Click on the project name at the top and click on i-model and click on three dots and click on connections.







  8. Click Allow in next window and then click on Create connection and the select the ProjectWISE 365 , hit next open the RevitModlels Folder created and pick the file hit next and click next button till it ask for connection name.

    NOTE : Connector is MicroStation here , other connectors might get updated in future .





  9. Enter the connection name and hit Create and then pick on the connection name in next window and hit on Play button to synchronize.







  10. Once Succeeded, click on Project name at the top. Scroll down to select PlantSight button and it will take directly to PlantSight project which is created and click on visualize button and click on 3D view to see results.
