How To Add New Property and Define A Calculated Formulae in that Property

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition,sometimes user needs to create new property and define a specific property which calculate a value combining two or more property. We shall see below following steps to check how this can be achieve.

NOTE : Please add Class Editor V8i to add Required ECexpression Symbols sets

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Class Editor V8i,supplement OpenPlant 3D schema with OpenPlant 3D modeling schema. For more information on schema Check Here



  2. Click on Search icon and look for piping component, click on Piping component and add a new property , here Pipe Area. Illustration below.





  3. Right click on Pipe Area > Custom Attributes > click Add/Remove button to add the custom attributes





  4. Select the Custom Attributes from above list and using a down arrow bring the selected list down .




  5. Once all the Custom Attributes added , fill in the details as below image .



    NOTE : While adding Required ECExpression SymbolSets, right click on it and Add element to add System.Math



  6. Now right click on Pipe Area property and Add units as fill details as below. Once done Save the schema changes.

  7. Launch OPENPLANT Modeler and place a small piece of pipe and verify formula.
