Background

Here in this section we shall see how to use Break Command as we have three settings included in break command which we can use to break the pipe and for joining. These three settings are as follows:

Steps to Accomplish

Standard: Used to divide a length of pipe into equal segments using the length defined in the field.

  1. Create a pipeline of Desired length, here L = 6000 mm.

  2. Click on Break option and select Standard.

  3. Upon Selecting Standard, key in the data value i.e. 2 and the pipe will be divided in 3 equal segments.

Dynamic: Pick a point where the break is to start, then move the cursor in either direction to define the length of the gap.

  1. Place a pipeline of Length = 6000 mm, now choose dynamic option and in message center read the message to select the end of the component/pipe.

  2. Click on mid of pipeline and drag the cursor to define the direction in which gaps are needed.

Merge Collinear: Allows you to merge several pieces of pipe into a single length of pipe.

  1. Below is an image of a pipe divided into different segments.

  2. Now select the option Merge Collinear, select a data point on one of the segments and it will merge while pipe in single component.
