How to bring OpenPlant PID 2D data in 3D OpenPlant Modeler

Overview

User places a few tagged components in OpenPlant PID application. He wants to place corresponding 3D components in OpenPlant Modeler. OpenPlant Suite offers this option using Consistency Checker feature. This wiki explains the exact procedure to accomplish this requirement.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Open the tagged 2D model where all the components are present.

  2. Publish an i.dgn of this model.

  3. Now launch OpenPlant Modeler and select a model in which we want to place the components.

  4. Reference OpenPlant PID imodel (i.dgn) in the OpenPlant model.

  5. Launch Explorer and select Consistency Checker option.

  6. We can see the status of components here.

  7. Right-click on the component to be placed.

  8. Once it is selected, the component will automatically appear at our curser for placement. Select placement location.

  9. Once the placement is complete, we can see the green check mark in the Consistency Checker.

  10. This is how tagged components in OpenPlant PID can be placed in OpenPlant Modeler.
