This article will guide you through the process of creating desired resource in ProjectWise Admin to load specified configurations using OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition.

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, loading a model file from ProjectWise Client load the application with designated workspace & workset CSBs. In this wiki article, we will explore how multiple icons of OpenPlant Modeler with desired workset association can be created. We will also see how the resource addition will be done in ProjectWise Client to load the document with desired application icon.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Load ProjectWise Administrator.
  2. Login to datasource, right click on Applications node and from contextual menu select New > Application as shown below.

  3. Enter name for application icon or resource as desired. Here name has been defined as OpenPlant Modeler-DIN as shown below.

  4. Once done, click on Set icon to define icon for the defined application name.
  5. Select application icon from installation directory of OpenPlant Modeler. Once done, click on OK.

  6. Click on Managed WorkSpace tab and define associations as required.
  7. Once associations are defined, click on Apply and OK.

  8. From client machine, load ProjectWise Explorer.
  9. Right mouse click on Work Area folder and select Properties. From Work Area Properties tab, click on Resources.

  10. Click on Add option to include newly created application icons.
  11. Select the created application resources/icon and click on OK. Refer image as shown below.

  12. From Work Area Properties tab, click on Apply and OK
  13. Select desired document from ProjectWise Explorer directory and open Properties dialog.
  14. Check the Application icon defined and change the association as per newly created application icon or resource. Here OpenPlant Modeler-DIN has been selected. Refer image below.

  15. Double click on the document to load. Once model file is open, check the About Configuration to ensure the resource name.

Notice that association is being driven from defined resource/icon of OpenPlant Modeler-DIN.

  16. Similarly, different desired resource can be created and assigned to document to load with the specified workspace or workset.
