In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, requirement is to define desired port settings for placement of HVAC round components.

Background

Upon placement of HVAC components in OpenPlant Modeler, application prompts place component dialog & from HVAC Port Settings user need to define the desired port end type & end prep size before placement. Refer image below.

Here requirement is to automate the placement & by default application should set desired end prep type & size. In the wiki article, we will consider the example of HVAC round duct and will define the end type as flanged with some end size value as desired.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Load Bentley Class Editor CONNECT Edition.
  2. Load OpenPlant 3D.01.08. ecschema of desired workset.
  3. Supplement OpenPlant 3D schema with below shown schemas. Refer image as shown below.

  4. Navigate to ROUND_GAS_PORT class & switch to Properties tab, search for END_PREPARATION property & change Default Value as shown below.

  5. From same class, select END_PREPARATION_SIZE and define desired value under Default Value custom attribute as shown below.

  6. Save all the schema changes & place HVAC round duct or component to see the desired changes.

Notice that application by default sets the End Prep Type & Size as desired.
