In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, the requirement is to configure the application to allow flange connection with different ratings.

Background

Normally, in OPM when we place mating flange with different RATING, an error is displayed in the message center saying "Components not Compatible. Component properties do not match RATING" as shown.

But in some cases, the requirement is to place the mating flange with different ratings and this article will explain what changes are required.

For example, let’s have a connection between rating CL 150 & CL300 as shown above without error message.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition.

  2. Choose the required Workspace, Workset & open any design (.dgn) file.

  3. From File > Settings > Configurations, Open Configuration Variables dialogue to configure as shown below.

  4. Search for the variable OPM_MATCH_PROPERTY_MAP_RATING. By default, it shows the following values.

  5. Add New Values CL 150 & CL 300 as shown & Hit OK.

Note: One Can Add Various Pairs of Ratings here as required. Also, the record for it should be available in the spec database.

  6. Click yes to save the changes as shown

  7. Place the Flange with rating CL150 & CL300 to verify the results. Attached below the snap for the same.

As shown, a joint is successfully created having fasteners with different ratings.
