How to Create NipoFlange in OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition.

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler user want to create Nipo Flange as per project requirement. By default, in OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT no any component like Nipo Flange is present. Below wiki article explains the procedures that needs to be followed to create Nipo Flange in OpenPlant Modeler.

a. To accomplish such requirement, we split the customization as mentioned below.

b. Add desired component records via Catalog Editor & Spec Gen

Steps to Accomplish

>> Schema Customization

  1. Launch Bentley Class Editor.



  2. Navigate to below highlighted folder location of your desired workset. Select OpenPlant_3D.01.08.ecschema & click on Open to load this schema.



  3. Supplement the schemas OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modelling & OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modelling views as shown



  4. Navigate to Nipolet class to Add subclass as shown

    Nipolet > Right Click > Add Derived Class



  5. Define new class name as NIPO_FLANGE. Refer below image for details.



  6. Copy Custom Attribute of Nipolet class as shown below

    Nipolet > Custom Attributes > Copy




  7. Select Creation Attribute to copy as shown



  8. Paste the Custom Attribute on Newly created Subclass NIPO_FLANGE as shown

    NIPO_FLANGE > Custom Attributes > Paste





  9. Creation Attribute is successfully copied as shown




  10. Save all changes.



    >> Component Addition in Spec Database

  11. Launch OpenPlant Specification Generator with desired Workspace/Workset.

  12. From Tools Open the Desired Catalogue to be Edited as shown




  13. Select OLET & Add Record as shown



  14. Add New Component NIPO_FLANGE as shown




  15. As shown new Row is added for NIPO_FLANGE



  16. Add required information in a newly created Row. For an example Add following fields

    PIECE_MARK > COL8x2
    CATALOGUE > BONNEY FORGED
    PIPE_OD_M > 625
    FLNG_OD_B > 6
    FLNG_TH_B >  1
    PIPE_OD_B > 2.375
    COMP_LEN > 6.5
    BRAN_SIZE > 2
    END_COND_1 > FL
    END_COND_2 > PL
    MAIN_SIZE > 8

  17. Merge the Edited Catalogue to previous catalogue as shown



  18. Open the desired Spec as shown




  19. As shown, record is added successfully for Nipo Flange




  20. Save the Spec & Launch OpenPlant Modeler.

  21. Place a Pipe of desired size ( Here 8 inch ) as shown



  22. From Piping, Select Key-in & enter below mentioned key-in to place Nipo flange on the routed pipe.

  23. The NipoFlange is placed as shown
