Background
In OpenPlant Modeler, use of UBR/RBR types of branch is used through Branch table present in Specification Generator. By using Specification Generator, we can define branch types like Un-reinforced branch and Reinforced branch.
With the use of Branch table, modeler should get below option to select the branch types:
- UBR_SET_ON – Un-reinforced Branch – Set ON
- UBR_STUB-IN – Un-reinforced Branch – STUB-IN
- RBR_SET_ON – Reinforced Branch – Set ON
- RBR_STUB-IN – Reinforced Branch – STUB-IN
Steps to Accomplish
- Launch Open Plant Specification Generator & select project unit.

- From the Home Tab, click on Open and click to open any desired spec. For Example: Ex-OPM

- Once the spec is loaded, click on the Tools tab next to Home and select branch Table which will open Branch table Editor.

- In this branch Table, select the header size for which branch is needed. For Example: For Header = 100 mm and Branch = 65 mm, we should automatically get branch as mentioned above. Illustration below.

- From these options we can select all by clicking on “Three Dots” or select any individual branch name.
- Let’s take another example for header = 125mm and branch = 50 mm. Image below.

- Save the changes in spec & close the table and spec and Launch OpenPlant Modeler and reload spec to have that changes reflect in modeler by reloading specs.

- Now let’s ensure to select and enable “Auto Branch table” option and also “Show Spec Grid for Auto Tables”

- Let’s try 100 and 65, Place a pipe header as 100 and branch 65. Notice we have all the available option from the branch table.

- Try for Nominal Diameter = 125 as header mm and Nominal Dia = 50 mm as branch, we should get one branch option.
