Background

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Bentley Raceway and Cable Management, Select WorkSpace and WorkSet.
Open any DGN file which you want to push to iTwin.
    For example: Raceway.dgn

  2. Select Associate Project to WorkSet from Collaborate ribbon tab to associate your WorkSet with ProjectWise Project.

  3. Select Browse to select the ProjectWise Project in the Edit WorkSet dialog.

Note: ProjectWise Project is a project you need to create in the Connect portal. This project will be associated to the local WorkSet and hence we can use the CONNECT portal features such as Itwin synchronization, Design review, Issue Management, etc.

  4. You can register a new project, or you can select the existing project from the Associate Project to WorkSet window.

Note: For the selected project, the currently logged in user must be added as Team Member or else iTwin synchronizer will not show the project in the project list.

  5. You can see the ProjectWise Project Properties from the Backstage.

  6. As now the project is connected, we can now use the collaboration tools.
    Click on Attach iTwin.

  7. Select the iModel from the selected project.

  8. Select the file and click Attach.

  9. The selected file will attach as a reference as shown below.

  10. Now, open iModel Import tool to import the business data.

  11. Select the OpenPlantBIM Modeler (OpenPlantBIM 3D schema) as the source.

  12. In Review Differences, you can Select the equipment to be imported, Accept the changes and Update.

  13. Select an equipment to apply to the imported objects.

  14. Equipment applied can now be used to route cables to the OpenPlant Objects.
