How to set Cable Status and edit cable status date/time in Bentley Raceway and Cable Management.

Background

During the cable laying phase on the field, cables need to be set to certain status indicating the action that needs to be performed for the cable based on the set status.
In Bentley Raceway and Cable Management, status can be set using the Status Manager available in the Cable Manager and the date and time for the set status can be changed accordingly.
The cable can be locked for certain status and that cable will not undergo automatic routing process.
This article explains how to set the cable status and edit the date and time parameters for the set status.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch the application and open Routing.dgn file.



2.In the Manage tab, click on Options and go to Status Management.
In addition to the default cable status defined, custom cable status can be added and status can be locked accordingly.



3. In Equipment & Cable tab, open the Cable Manager.


4. In the Cable Manager, select any cable and from the Manage ribbon group click on Status Manager.



5.Status Manager dialog will be opened displaying the selected cable.
Right click to select the status ‘Design’ to be set for the cable.



6.The cable status will be set to Design.
Click on the Status node and in the Property section, the date and time of the set status can be edited.



Note- The date and time format can be entered in any of the Windows supported date and time formats.



7.Select another cable and set the Status to ‘Released for Construction’.



It can be seen from Options>Status Management that the status Released for Construction is locked, which implies that the cable will have a locked status flag and it will not undergo automatic routing process.
