Background

This article will explain the procedure to add units of measurement to new/existing property. For this exercise, we can change the Design Pressure property units. By default, Kpa(gauge) units are associated with the property value. This wiki article explains the procedure for it.


NOTE: Make sure the property, to which the units are being assigned, is of DOUBLE type. On STRING property, units will not appear automatically.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Class Editor and load OpenPlant_PID.01.08 schema.



  2. Supplement the below schemas with OpenPlant_PID.

    OpenPlant_PID_Supplemental_Units_Metric.01.08



  3. Go to PUMP class and locate the DESIGN PRESSURE property in the properties tab.



  4. Select the Unit and see the details as shown below.  



  5. Set the unit value as BAR, Refer to below image. 



  6. Save the changes and verify the results.
