Background

In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, while placing a component, it needs to be selected from the spec grid if more than one record is available. In that grid, the sequence of properties is set by default as shown

For Weld Neck Flange the sequence is

Name > Nominal Diameter > Manufacturer > Schedule > Rating > Description > Fluid Port Facing > Fluid Port End Prepe > & So on...

Now, the requirement is to change this default sequence to desired one.Let's say for example, the sequence should be changed as shown

Nominal Diameter > Name > Description > Manufacturer > Fluid Port Facing & disable the Fluid Port End Preparation & Nominal Diameter.

This wiki article explains how this can be set.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Bentley Class Editor.

  2. Open the OpenPlant_3D.01.08.ecschema.xml schema & supplement it with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.08.ecschema.xml OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_ModelingViews.01.08.ecschema.xml. Attached the wiki link below for how to supplement schemas.

  3. Go to Piping Components class > Properties.

  4. As per the sequence desired, go to NOMINAL_DIAMETER Property & change the Spec Grid position to 1, as we wants the same property at 1st place in columns. Refer to the attached image below.

  5. Now, go to NAME property & change the spec grid position to 2, as we want the same property at 2nd place in column as shown

  6. Similarily, set the positions for the properties as shown

    Description > 3
    Manufacturer > 4

  7. Now, to set the position of Fluid Port class > Look for Facing & set the value to 6 as shown

  8. Also, to disable the Fluid port End Preparation & Nominal Diameter, set the values to 0 as shown

  9. Save the schemas & relaunch the OpenPlant Modeler.

  10. Verify the results as shown

Notice that, the desired sequence is achieved. Nominal Diameter > Name > Description > Manufacturer > Fluid Port Facing & disable the Fluid Port End Preparation & Nominal Diameter.

Note: If in case relaunching the OpenPlant Modeler didn't reflect back the results. please delete the 2 files from folder as shown, the path of which is given below

C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Bentley\OpenPlantModeler\10.0\<Workset Name >  Refer to the attached image below.
