How to Update Existing Schema Changes to Already Provisioned PlantSight Workset for OpenPlant Modele

In OpenPlant Modeler, requirement is to know about, how to update existing customization for a PlantSight enabled workset.

Background

Upon Associate & Schema provision for OpenPlant Modeler workset all the configured schema changes pushed to iModel of PlantSight project. During the course of time based on project requirement, requirement is to update the existing customization. In the wiki article, we will consider case of Equipment tag name. During provision, equipment tag name has name format as DEVICE_TYPE_CODE "-" NUMBER. Same tag name for equipment can be seen in PlantSight Visualizer as shown below.

In this wiki article, we will learn how to add additional property for tag name & reflect the same in PlantSight Visualizer.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Load OpenPlant Project Administrator CONNECT Edition.
  2. Select desired workset, expand it & select OpenPlant Modeler product.
  3. Click on Settings ribbon tab & select Tag Editor. Refer sequential steps as shown

  4. From Tag Editor, add an additional property as SUFFIX & click on Save to save the changes. Refer image as shown below.



  5. Once done, select the workset, from CONNECT Services ribbon tab, click on Import as shown below.

  6. From Import Wizard, click on Import to start the process.



  7. Import process should complete successfully without any error message.
  8. Load OpenPlant Modeler & open a model file, using Explorer check-out components from PlantSight as shown below.


  9. Once component is checked-out, modify the equipment & enter Suffix value. Click on green tick to save the changes.



  10. Perform PlantSight check-in again & notice that difference dialog states about new & old changes



  11. Once checked-in, visualize the equipment in PlantSight visualizer as shown below.
