Background

Using Engineering Data Manager, component data sheets can be created from PlantSight Tag Management portal. As a prerequisite, please ensure that component tag with all the desired properties are available under Tag Management. Another prerequisite is to have component data-sheet format available in excel file as per desired properties, drawing, logos etc. In this wiki article, we will consider an example for Equipment tag.

Template data-sheet format

In general, the spread-sheet format completely depends upon user requirement. The main details that should be taken care is about, how to map properties. Also, can we concatenate multiple properties?

To map a property $Property token will be used.

To include multiple properties, format will be used as <ec>Property1</ec> <ec>Property2</ec>

Notice that Equipment Name is mapped with $NAME, here $ is used as token and NAME is the property available in EC3 schema. Likewise, to include multiple properties notice that for NOTES couple of static text and two properties have been included.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Load Tag Management portal from PlantSight.
  2. From Tag Management portal, expand desired root node and select a tag row. Click on Advance Export, refer image as shown below.

Note: Multiple records can also be selected, in that case select all the desired rows and click on Advance Export option.

  3. It will prompt to select a template. Select desired data-sheet template. Refer image as shown below.

  4. Once data-sheet template is loaded, it will populate data-sheet with all the fields automatically, refer image as shown below.

  5. To the bottom of the page, options for Export and Print are available to save the populated data-sheet. Export Excel will download all the sheets. Print option will work for individual sheet per tag.
