How To Upload .pod File Format of Reality Data into iModel and view into it in PlantSight

Background

This wiki  will help in loading .pod file format  through iModel into PlantSight for design review.File considered are here used as sample to test.  

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Share in registered project in Connect.bentley.com which can be viewed below ProjectWise 365 Services  tagline. 
     


  2. Go to New and select Upload and upload  the .pod file along with dgn.Below a new folder was created and then all .pod file was uploaded into it.
     


      
  3. Go to Registered project again click on iModel Manager.

      
      
  4. Created an  iModel e.g ASHU-4.2 (You can use the existing one as well if created)



  5. Click on Connection through ellipses for the new created iModel.



  6. Click on Create Connection:


      
  7. Select iTwin File Service and Individual File Connectors and hit on Next.
    This being initial step verify the Imodel created and Check the Data Source.
     

      
  8. The .pod file and dgn loaded at first step will get reflected.
    Select the dgn and hit on Next
     

      
  9. Kindly select the Point Cloudfitview.dgn which would have all the .pod file format being fetched and hit on Next


     
  10. During defining of iModel Connector -Select the PointCloudFitview.dgn and process with Microstation and then hit on Next.


      
  11. Give any desired name in Connection Name -Reality Data Test and then hit on Create to initiate the connection.


      
  12. Select the Connection named as Reality Data Test. As soon as Reality Data Test is selected Synchronize option is enabled.Click on it.


     
  13. After Hitting on Synchronize, window with  connect-itwinbridgeportal will get launched which will reflect the status for connection in process. It can noticed through Details column



  14.  After Imodel bridge connection is finished it will notified as Succeeded


     
  15. Go Again to iModel Manager through Project to view the .pod file format being loaded.Viewing the .pod file format can also be done through Plantsight option as well.



  16. After clicking on Imodel select the one for which Connection was done And then hit on View all changes.



  17. After hitting on View all changes click on Changes-A, then flag with + symbol -B (Create a Named version) , Give the name to new Named version:


      
  18. The new Named version named as Reality Data will get updated in in Named version list, Hit on View


      
  19. Select the iModel and then hit on OpenImodel. Just make sure Process physical will get enlisted only when Openplant has the synced into the same.


      
  20. After Design Review window is loaded into iModel click on Visibility→Select Reality Data→Show All and thus the.pod file format which was not loaded during initial connection of Imodel bridge gets reflected in visibility window and the point Data from .pod file with the helo of dgn get reflected into design review window as shown below :




    If you face any issues in access in Plantsight portal then it might be the case that all access are not provided or need to fetch the license for it.Or you can raise SR wrt to the issue generated.
