Background

User has a requirement to customize the valve tagging.
For Example, if user needs to add some additional property with the default tagging and it should come automatically while placing the valve on a pipeline.
Follow the below steps to resolve this.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch the Class Editor
  2. Open the file and select the OpenPlant PID schema file from the particular workset as shown i fig below.

  3. Right click on the OpenPlant Schema and select Supplemented Schema option. Click on Add and Open PID Supplemented Schema as stated in image below.

  4. Search for the Valve to navigate to the Parent Class as shown.

  5. Go for Parent Class as Inline Valve if this will be required for all the valves. Select the Size a Property from the properties section as shown below.

  6. Add the Custom Attribute by right clicking on the size property. Select EC Component Custom Attribute and drop it down in an Applied Custom Attribute as shown below.

  7. Add ECExpression and all the property information and save the setting as shown in image below.
Note: In this Case we are adding CODE with the Nominal size as an additional property to display in the valve tagging.

  8. Launch OpenPlant PID and place a valve on pipeline and verify the result.
