Overview

This document shares a way to get back the Equipment Categories that gets disappeared when Custom Attribute is added to the Schemas.

Problem Description

User has introduced a new equipment category by incorporating a new customized attribute into the OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.08.ecschema.xml. However, this customization had led to an issue where the Create Equipment tool in OPM fails to display the complete range of available categories for creating equipment.

Adding New Category Motor.

Below image shows the changes seen in the schema after a category is added.

Steps to Resolve

1. Open OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.08.ecschema.xml. and add <CLASS_NAME/> as shown below. Save it and relaunch OPM.
   
   
   
2. Relaunch OPM and verify the results. Below image shows the difference in the Equipment Category when <CLASS_NAME/> is added into the schema.
   Click on Create Equipment and check the categories visible under it.
