source

see links

purpose

Converts a set of tabulated azimuth and altitude values to a bspline curve that ultimately produces a sun direction.

implementation

Sun position data can be copied from the tabulated view of the sun path diagram in Ecotect 5.6 , or from several other web sources (if anyone wants to tabulate these that's be great)

the three columns are for the two equinoxes, and the mid point of the year.

example

See the attatched zip for an example of a gallery schedule

possible uses

creating solar driven geometry

Until a solar direction is available from within GC, this provides a semi-quick and dirty way to verify solar angles etc.

future directions

Could be verified to confirm accuaracy, or could have the xls removed all together and make thedirection calculations internal.
