How to add Various Grades of Material to Lookup Table.

Background

The requirement is to add various grades of material in a lookup table. This wiki article explains how to create the same via OpenPlant Specification Generator.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant Specification Generator CONNECT Edition for desired workspace/workset.



  2. Open the required spec as shown below.




  3. From Tools, go to Lookup Table Editor & add lookup table “ Material_Grades” as shown.



  4. Now, one can create new values manually or by copying all the values from excel sheet. As an example, we will perform by copying from excel. Attached the sample excels sheet download link to follow.

  5. Attached the sample excel sheet with various material grades. Copy the data as per need as shown



  6. Once done click on paste excel as shown


    Notice that all the grades/values have been created.

  7. Define custom Fields & then define column name & lookup table as mentioned in the above step. Attached the snap for the same below.



  8. Switch to fasteners class & Add Material Grade constraint in the table as shown



  9. Notice that, the column for a material grade is added & after clicking on drop-down bar, all the grades are enlisted. Attached the snap for the same below
