Background
In OpenPlant Specification generator, requirement is to convert the specs to different units. This is done to avoid duplicity in the work & to save the project hours. This wiki article explains how to use the tool unit converter in SpecGen to convert the spec. For example, we will convert the EX-OPM spec from Imperial to Metric. Initially, let’s say for elbow table the main & run size is shown as follows.

Steps to Accomplish
- Launch OpenPlant Specification Generator CONNECT Edition for desired workspace/workset.

- Open the required spec as shown below.

- From Tools, click on Unit Converter as shown.

- Unit conversion utility dialogue will evoked. Select Source unit, Target unit & precision value as desired ( Here Source is Imperial & taget in Metric). Attched the snap for the same below.

- Click on Add, to select the source file ( here A1)

- Select source file from desired location. Please see the attached image below.

- Now, click on browse to select the desired output location. Once done tick the Repair SysIDs option & click on convert as shown

- Notice that conversion process is started as shown

- Once done see the status in message center below as converted.

- Now verify the results, by opening the output file, the location of which is given above in step-7.

Notice that the units has been converted to Metric from Imperial.
