In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, the requirement is to Add Derived Class in the Parent class using OpenPlant Project Administrator CONNECT Edition.

Background

In OpenPlant Project Administrator CE, a new tool has been introduced for the creation of new Derived Class via OpenPlant Project Administrator CE. This Wiki shows the procedure for the same as follows.

 Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant Project Administrator CONNECT Edition.

  2. Select the desired workset & launch Schema Editor from Settings as shown

  3. Select any desired Class as shown

  4. Go to pipe > Right Click > Add Derived Class as shown

  5. Add Derived class in parent Class Pipe. Derived class is the class that inheritates all the properties of Parent Class.
(Here PIPE_A is the new Derived Class as shown)

  6. Added Class has appeared in the list. Hit Save as shown.

  7. From the location mentioned below, open the required spec in which Class should be added.

    C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Workspaces\TEST-2\WorkSets\TEST-2-WS\Standards\OpenPlant\Specs

  8. Add record to the Spec for Newly Added Derived Class as shown
    (Here, the Spec is EX-OPM)

    Save the Spec once added.

  9. Now Launch OpenPlant Modeler to verify the results.

  10. Create a new pipe with the details as shown

  11. Once done, Hit Enter on the Working Interface to launch Key-in Dialogue.

  12. Insert the Key-in & hit Enter as shown below

  13. Place pipe with the above records & check the properties as shown

Thus, Derived class PIPE_A is successfully placed in OpenPlant Modeler Via OpenPlant Project Administrator.
