In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, requirement is to know about, how to create new spec using OpenPlant specification Generator CONNECT Edition.
Background
To create any specification, we need to have catalogs for it. In this wiki article, we will create one sample spec using default available catalogs.
Steps to Accomplish
- Load OpenPlant Project Administrator CONNECT Edition.
- Select desired workset, expand it & select application icon as OpenPlant Modeler product.
- Click on Tools ribbon tab and select Specification Generator. Refer sequential steps as shown below.

- This will load OpenPlant Specification Generator CONNECT Edition.
- From Home ribbon tab, from Catalog ribbon group, click on Add ribbon tool as shown below.

- Select desired catalogs from Catalog Database folder & click on Open.

- From Specification ribbon group, click on Spec Header ribbon tool.

- Enter details for spec in Spec Header section.

- Click on Add Section from Settings ribbon group.

- In Add New Section dialog, enter desired sections name here FLANGE

- Once section name has been defined, it can be seen to left ribbon pane as shown below

- Click on Add Class to Section. From Available classes, pick/select desired classes to include for the FLANGE section. Refer image below.

- Once classes are added, click on Add Constraints to include desired constraints.

- Click on Add New Row to include a new row to define fields.

- Enter spec details as per PMS (Piping Material Specification).

- Click on Save.

- Define desired name for Spec.

- Load OpenPlant Modeler CE & verify the result.
