Unexpected error when trying to login in Spatial Manager

When the user tries to connect to spatial manager they recieve an error message stating:
Unexpected login error.
ActiveX component can't create object
Exor Support Log = 100030

This error means that Oracle Objects for OLE (OO4O) has not been installed.

If you cannot see a folder called oo4o under your Oracle client installation, it is not installed.

This oracle component -which is part of the Oracle client installation - is required for SM to work
The screenshot below displays Oracle installer and the OO4O component

Depending on the type of Oracle client install you do, it may or may not include OO4O.

Like, If you do a full enterprise client install from memory it tends to install OO4O but if you do the ‘standard’ client install it doesn’t.

You can download and run in the OO4O component separately and Oracle normally include this in the ODAC utility.

You could also try and run the Oracle Client install again and choose custom and search for OO4O to run in on its own.
