Problem

I am trying to configure Exor MapCapture Geospatial Administrator on a physical machine (Windows 8.1 64-bit) and on virtual machine but my attempts fail at the point when I try establish a connection to the database. I get this:

Solution

Make sure you have Oracle Client Administrator 32-bit installed on the machine. Oracle InstantClient will not do, it will give the same error as above. 

You should be able to select Oracle Client Administrator at the first step of the installation when you launch Oracle Universal Installer.
