Problem
Can you suggest best way to change Highways owner user (base table owner) password.
Solution
There are many areas that can be affected by this. In an average Exor system there are several disparate applications that use the Highways owner user (Base Table Owner) password to connect to the database. If you need to change the password, then refer to this document to double-check what other systems you need to change. These changes will need to be made at the same time. This should not be considered the definitive list as users may have their own applications relying on this too.
- Use HIG1832 Users form to change a password for Highways owner (SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR). Changing a password in SQL can have odd effects with Locator, e.g. calls to Locator resulting in the account being locked.
- Backups
- Scheduled task on database server that calls the backup script – if not doing a full export, change the password
- Apex DAD (for TMA Apex reports)
- On the application server enterprise manager console, change in the HTTP Server Administration PL/SQL Properties
- Select the DAD from the list, edit the password on the first page, and then Apply
- Requires a restart to the HTTP Server
- NM3WEB Dad
- On the application server enterprise manager console, change in the HTTP Server Administration PL/SQL Properties
- Select the DAD from the list, edit the password on the first page, and then Apply
- Requires a restart to the HTTP Server
- Map Viewer OC4J
- Find the XML data source on the map server, e.g. at: -C:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\j2ee\home\applications\mapviewer\web\WEB-INF\conf\mapViewerConfig.xml
- In the data source section at the bottom, set the password to be ![password]
- Restart the OC4J Container
- Password in XML file will be obfuscated if done correctlyElgin Adapter (optional for TMA systems)
- Listeners
- Edit the password line in the start and stop scripts for the Exor listeners on the application server
