Problem

After creating an alert based upon criteria within Enquiry Manager, the following error message appears:

ORA-29278: SMTP transient error: 421 Service not available

 

Solution

Ensure the SMTP server is up and running. 

Also, ensure the user has the role 'EMAIL_USER' against their account.
