The Integration profile contains many settings to tailor APM's integration behavior. Please note: a more detailed description of this functionality is provided in the APM online help. Search for 'interoperability'.
To create a profile, while in the AssetWise Interoperability Settings dialog shown in Site Configuration, navigate to the Profile drop-down field, invoke the right-click context menu, and choose 'New'.
That will display the dialog shown below.
Be sure to click OK when you have made all the desired changes in all the following tabs.
The General tab allows you to name the profile, and specify which systems are the system of record for reliability, work documents, and work management history.
As a rule, you want the Profile Name to identify the CMMS system unambiguously. This can include a number of aspects:
Examples are SAP_Production, Oracle_Dev, and WebBFS_SanGabriel_QA. In this example, the Profile name is WebBFS.
The Assets tab indicates which fields will be non-editable even when the APM asset is checked out for editing.
For a customary APM-and-CMMS integration, all fields should be checked.
On the Interop tab, choose the settings appropriate for the work management features. This specifies the usage of Secondary statuses and Work types.
On the Change requests tab, the settings relate to default asset status values in standard scenarios. If using the asset change request functionality, select a status for each.
The description tab allows for lengthy formatted free-form information.
The usage tab shows which sites have activated this profile.
