I am installing eB, and I want to be sure I am installing the correct plugins, when creating my web site

What does the Publisher Package do?

The Publisher plugin is installed when selecting the ‘Publish eB information for distribution and non-eB access’ when creating your web site, as shown below.

With the Publisher Plugin installed, you can create, modify, delete and/or publish packages of eB objects. Publisher
packages include all contents: object instance data, hierarchies, and the files contained within documents. A package may be formatted as html, chm (Microsoft help file,) or xml. Thus they are inherently suitable for distribution to  non-users of eB and entities outside your enterprise.

The Publisher Plugin exposes the following in the Web UI:

A publisher drop down in the navigate tab:

On an eB objects Action pane:

And from the basket:

The functionality exposed in the web UI, will create a publish job for which will be processed on the eB Server running the Publishing Service.

What license do I need?

Publishing has previously fallen under the eB Insight Handover Services product.  From eB 15.6.1, if will become a core product contained within the eB Information Manager product.
