Problem Description
After migration to eB version 16 some functionalities does not work properly. For example Work Exchange in Navigation pane does not load content
Reason
This might be caused when using eB WEB in older Document Mode version (Document Mode is IE setting).
By default, eB sends instructions for browser to use latest Document Mode (Document Mode 11 or Edge, same versions but naming differs depending Windows version), however this setting can be overridden and if older version of Document Mode is used for eB web (V16) then some functionalities will stop working or some pages might not load properly.
How To Identify
Connect to eB WEB using Internet Explorer (you must be connected to eB site as this option might change depending on webpage you have open).
Open Developer Tools. Developer Tools can be found under Internet Explorer Tools or can be called by pressing Shortcut key F12
Developer Tools will load at the bottom of the browser.
Navigate to Emulation tab and inspect Document Mode property
If it's set anything else than 11 or Edge proceed to next step, otherwise your issue not related to Document Mode.
Steps to Resolve
As mentioned before, default setting (which should be 11 or edge) can be overridden.
- Setting pushed by internal IT using Enterprise Mode.
If in Developer Tools you do see Browser Profile : Enterprise, it means that this setting is pushed by internal IT department. You will have to contact your IT to fix this issue. - Setting overridden by Compatibility View Setting.
If in Developer Tools you do see Browser Profile: Desktop, but Document Mode:7 , then this setting is overridden locally by Compatibility View Settings.
This can be fixed locally by navigating to Internet Explorer Tools>Compatibility View Settings and by deleting eB website address from list. If eB is intranet site you might need to deselect option 'Display intranet sites in Compatibility View'
