User need to schedule a regular restart of the APM/Ivara Services.
The following instructions describe how to set-up an automated restart of the APM Services.
1. Open Windows Services and find the exact name(s) of the APM or “Ivara” Service(s) you wish to stop:
In this example it is “IvaraServer-80-7122tgserver” but your environment these will be named differently and most likely have more services running.
2. Create a program to stop and restart the APM services on that particular server. This will be done by creating a .bat file and storing it in an appropriate location so that the program can be found and run later. The program is found in the following link
https://bentleysystems.service-now.com/community?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0089281
You will need to update the appropriate sections of this .bat file with your environment’s specific information. Read the link, follow the instructions written in RED to make the required changes. Make sure to name the file to something recognizable to admin users like “BentleyAPMAutomatedRestart” and save it in an appropriate location.
Once the program is created, then set-up a Windows Task Scheduler Task.
3. Open Windows’ Task Scheduler application. In the Actions box (top-left) launch “Create a basic task…”
4. Name the task appropriately and select the appropriate frequency, ie Daily and appropriate start time.
Note - be careful not to select a time when an APM service should be running.
5. Next, choose Start a Program and Browse for the .bat file created in Step 2.
6. Click Finish to complete the Task
7. Review the task’s properties and set it to run with highest privileges.
