Problem

When installing SELECTserver, I am prompted to choose a web site for the creation of the SELECTserver administration site, but the list is empty.

Solution

If running a 64-bit operating system, ensure that you are installing a 64-bit release of SELECTserver. This can be determined by examining the name of the SELECTserver installer. A 64-bit installer will begin with "ss64" such as in ss64081107111en.exe. A 32-bit release of SELECTserver will encounter problems communicating with a 64-bit release of Internet Information Services (IIS) included with the operating system.
