Overview

Navigator Mobile app on iPAD utilizes mobile i-models *.imodel. This guide will explain procedure to get Navigator Mobile Publisher and how to use it. Navigator Mobile Publisher creates mobile i-models that store i-models and documents in a single file.

Software needed

For the iPad - On your iPad, open the App Store and search for Bentley Navigator Mobile and install it on your iPad.

On your “main” PC - Go to the Bentley download section of the Bentley SELECTservices website, select the Product name: “Navigator Mobile Publisher” and click Search. Downloads are available only for Bentley SELECT users.

Creating mobile i-model files

   1. Create a “Packaged” i-model *.i.dgn file in MicroStation or Bentley  i-model Composer.

   2. Start Navigator Mobile Publisher

           

   3. Click on Add Files… and browse to the location of the i-model. Or the files can be dragged to Navigator Mobile Publisher dialog.

If model have links to PDF files attached to elements you can embed PDF's into your mobile i-model. After your packaged i-model *.i.dgn is added in Navigator Mobile Publisher, add related PDF's (use 'Add Files..' option or drag and drop files). Related PDF file with show under 'Supported documents to embed' field, like shown in picture below:

Press Publish.

Published mobile i-model file:

   4. Transfer your published mobile i-model file *.imodel into iPad. For this purpose can be used several ways: ProjectWise Explorer Mobile, iTunes, email,  a cloud service (such as Dropbox).
