Problem

When you create a diversion in a network and have a drop manhole structure (sump) at the node where the water diverges will the sump fill before the water is routed to the downstream pipe?

 Problem ID#: 62573

Solution

Yes, the sump will fill before the water is routed to the downstream pipe. The diversion rating curve, which routes the water at a specified diversion location, is a table you enter based on the 'upstream flow' (cfs, gpd, gpm, etc..) versus the diverted flow downstream. The rating curve determines the flow into the associated conduit. At each upstream flow point, you define how much of the flow is diverted downstream.
