Problem

I have a point shapefile who's shape type is "Multipoint". It will not display as a background and I can't use it in Loadbuilder because it throws an error message that the type is not one that was expected. Why is this and how can I fix it?

Solution

We currently don't support the multipoint type shapefile. What you can do to use the file is open it in ArcMap or ArcCatalog and run the geoprocessing tool called "Multi part to Single part" on this shapefile. Once you do this the resulting output shapefile is a regular point shapefile, which can be utilized in Loadbuilder and as a background file.
