The steps below will help to run the Element Property Inferencing tool when the tool gives the user notification "Negative ground slope detected..." during an attempted use.
1) Select the pipe and nodes elements. (Using query may help, View > Queries > Queries - Predefined > Network Trace > Find Shorted Path)
2) Once elements are selected, open Flextable just for those nodes (Manhole Table for e.g.). View > Flex Tables > Right click on Manhole Table > Open on Selection
3) Copy the Elevation (Ground) to some temp location like in MS Excel.
4) Copy the Invert elevation from the same Manhole Table and Paste to Ground Elevation
5) Right click on Elevation (Ground) > Global Edit
6) Pick Operation to "Add" and enter value as 1000 (a high number), click OK button
7) Now run the Element Property Inferencing from Tools menu.
8) Paste back the Elevation (Ground) from temp location.
Is there a way to infer and assign invert elevations to nodes in my network?
