When viewing the Cross Section report (for example using an irregular section worksheet), the blue water surface elevation line does not show when it is above the top of the defined cross section.
Example - calculated water surface elevation = 9 ft
calculated water surface elevation = 13 ft
In order for the blue water surface elevation to show up in Cross Section view, ensure that the defined cross section includes points at least as high as the calculated water surface elevation. Typically the water surface will be within the defined profile, so this situation is atypical.
If the computed water surface elevation is above the banks of a channel, and the entered cross section only extends up to the banks, this situation means that the channel does not have the capacity to carry the desired flow and the calculated water surface elevation is approximate (linear extrapolation from the slope of the last points).
