Problem

I'm trying to export my WaterCAD/GEMS model to EPANET using the labels. When I try this it exports correctly but, when I import the file back to WaterCAD/GEMS the pipes and nodes are not all there or some are in the wrong places. How do I fix this?

Solution

You should make sure all your labels for your junction and pipe elements are completely unique. If they all look unique the problem is likely that they start with the same characters. EPANET has a limit on the number of characters a label can be. If all or some of your elements use the same starting characters like ABCDE then you should try to make the labels unique at the beginning by a number to the front of it an increasing the number by 1 for every consecutive record you do. If this doesn't work please contact technical support for more help.
