Problem

When using a Bentley Hydraulics and Hydrology application integrated with ArcMap, which input properties are required?

How to match data from GIS to the model?

Background

A "data model" is standard GIS terminology. It defines what attributes are stored and in what tables.

All element types are listed in the Help documentation, but the properties for each element type are not.

Solution

If you are interested in the ArcGIS Data Model (for Bentley Hydraulics and Hydrology geodatabase), then it is pretty simple.

Note:

The full list of available attributes for an element type can be found by opening the FlexTable for the element type and selecting the Edit button.

The list of attributes for each element depends on the version of the Bentley Hydraulic and Hydrology application being used. There are a many available attributes, not all of which are required.

The demand for a junction is nested within the demand collection so it can’t be imported directly to the node.

Here is an example list of the properties associated with each model element type.

These properties can be mapped to using ModelBuilder to match the data model you want to use in ArcGIS.

(1) Needs to match Material Library inside of WaterGEMS
(2) Dependent on type pressure or flow settings may be needed.
(3) Three point or multiple point pump curves are needed.  Can be acquired by pump manufacturer.
