What kinds of channel calculations does PondPack perform?
The trapezoidal, rectangular, circular, parabolic, and irregular channel options compute normal depth for given flow rates, or compute flow rates for a range of normal depths. If the channel section is under backwater conditions, it may be necessary to run a water surface profile program (such as HEC-RAS or CivilStorm) to determine the channel hydraulics characteristics and then using an elevation vs. flow table, or an elevation vs. flow vs. area table in the case of modified puls reach routing.
