Is it possible to integrate the hydraulics and hydrology products with a custom AutoCAD profile?
We don’t rely on the AutoCAD profile to load the our products. The only thing we rely on the .SCR script file, which is passed as the switch parameter to the acad.exe from the shortcut.
Having said that, we do pass one more parameter to the acad.exe from the shortcut with the switch ‘/p’, which does create the AutoCAD profile if it doesn’t exist in the system. But the only reason for this is that when the user is working with one of our products in AutoCAD, the ribbon, docking windows, toolbars, and some other environment settings are persisted in the profile. Other than the persistence, the profile itself doesn’t matter.
If you want to use your own profile, you can do that by changing the ‘/p’ parameter that we pass to the autocad.exe. The only requirement for our product integration is that you need run the commands of the .SCR script file either manually or using the ‘/b’ switch to load the product automatically.
