Overview

Bentley's OpenFlows products can associate hydraulic models with a Connected project. This process is done with the Assign Project to Hydraulic Model dialog. This is useful for example if your hydraulic model is part of a larger project involving other Bentley products or services.

Note:

Benefits of Assigning a Project to a Hydraulic Model

By assigning a project to a hydraulic model, it becomes visible as part of a larger project that may involve other Bentley products or services. You can track which documents you use and time spent on your project and provide detailed project reports.

Other benefits include:

Accessing the Assign Project to Hydraulic Model Dialog

  1. Open the Bentley OpenFlows application.
  2. Sign-in to the CONNECTION client if you aren't already.
  3. Open or create a new Hydraulic model.
  4. Open the "Bentley Cloud Services" menu and select Associate Project.

To Associate a Connected Project to a Hydraulic Model

  1. In the Associate Project dialog, select the desired existing CONNECTED Project from the list (use the search bar if needed). If a project has not yet been created, you can first choose "Register a new project" at the top, then select it from the list after clicking "refresh project list".
  2. Click Associate.
  3. The project name will display on the status bar to the left of your CONNECT user icon.

Note: Double clicking on the project name will also associate the project to the Hydraulic model:

To Change the Associated CONNECTED Project

A hydraulic model can only have one associated project. Associating a project to a hydraulic model that is already assigned to another project, will disassociate the existing project and associate the new project.

To Disassociate a CONNECTED Project From a Hydraulic Model

  1. Open the OpenFlows product.
  2. Sign-in to the CONNECTION client if you aren't already.
  3. Open the hydraulic model to disassociate from a project.
  4. Open the Bentley Cloud Services menu and selecting Disassociate Project.
  5. The project name will no longer display on the status bar.
