Can the storm-sewer products perform a transient analysis in the sewer force mains?
No, SewerGEMS cannot perform a hydraulic transient (surge) analysis. For this, you would need to use Bentley's transient analysis software, HAMMER.
HAMMER cannot directly open a SewerGEMS model. You will need to either recreate the relevant part of the SewerGEMS model in HAMMER manually or export the element data using ModelBuilder. To use the ModelBuilder method, you would first need to export the pressure elements (pressure pipes, pressure junctions, pumps, wetwells, etc.) as shapefiles. This is done from the element FlexTables by clicking the Export to File button in the upper left of the FlexTable.
Once this is completed, you can import these shapefiles into HAMMER using ModelBuilder. The general steps to do this can be found at this link.
