Annotation or Color Coding not updating correctly

Applies To
Product(s): WaterGEMS, WaterCAD,  SewerGEMS, SewerCAD, CivilStorm, HAMMER
Version(s): 08.11.XX.XX and higher
Area: Modeling

Problem

Element Symbology is not updating, for example the annotation shown in the drawing pane does not match what is seen in the properties or Flextable. This may happen for example when scrolling through the Time Browser or changing scenarios.

Or

Some pipes or junctions in my model are not visible, but they are shown in the flextable.

Solution

First, if you are only looking at the colors and annotations in the drawing pane, make sure the calculation was completed successfully. Check your user notifications list, and the Calculation Summary.

If the calculations completed and you see the results changing in graphs and in the property grid/flextables, this may be due to auto-refresh being turned off. Go to the View menu and make sure that the Auto-Refresh option has a check mark beside it. When Auto-Refresh is checked, element symbology (color coding and annotations) should change as you step through the Time Browser or change to another Scenario.

CONNECT Edition:

Note: in V8i and earlier, this is located under the View menu.

If that doesn't help, try going to File > Database Utilities > Synchronize Drawing. (or for V8i, Tools > Database Utilities > Synchronize Drawing)

You can also try deleting the model's associated .DWH file (which will be regenerated upon reopening the model), or try moving just the starter file (.WTG for WaterGEMS/WaterCAD, .STSW for the storm and sewer products) and the database file (.SQLITE) to a new folder location and recompute the model.

For elements that are not visible in the drawing pane, check if they are inactive ("Is Active?" = False). Under File > Options, you can find an option to display inactive elements in a gray color.
